NAM President Victor Dzau Joins World Leaders at May 4 Event on Coronavirus Response Funding

National Academy of Medicine President Victor J. Dzau will provide remarks on behalf of the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board during a virtual event on May 4 to launch an online pledging effort, the Coronavirus Global Response.  Led by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, heads of state and government as well as additional partners from across the world will participate in this event to support reaching the target of approximately $8 billion in initial funding to help develop and deploy effective COVID-19 diagnostics, treatments, and a vaccine that are universally available and affordable.

Dzau serves on the Global Preparedness Monitoring Board, an independent monitoring group co-convened by the World Bank Group and the World Health Organization that provides expert assessments and recommendations on the state of global preparedness.
